Adoption Announcements!!!

BODI

Bodi joined our rescue in July 2024 after suffering traumatic injuries from a fall out of a second-story window, triggered by separation anxiety when his owner switched from working at home to an office job. Though initially treated for pain and anxiety, no follow-up care was documented, and by July, his owner listed him for re-homing online.

Once in our care, Bodi was evaluated by a vet and an orthopedic specialist. Rather than undergo a painful, costly surgery, we opted for custom leg braces to manage his condition. Thanks to his foster family's dedication, Bodi’s mobility and well-being have improved greatly—he now only needs his braces for longer walks.

On February 9, 2025, Bodi found his forever family, and they couldn’t be happier!

LOGAN

Logan was adopted in January 2025. After being passed between military families and eventually listed on a re-homing website due to another move, we stepped in to help. We placed him in a foster home, where he quickly bonded with his new family, Kopi and Kiera. It turned out to be the perfect match, and Logan has now found his forever home. Congratulations to Logan and his amazing family!

Lycus

On 4/24/24, Southern California Keeshond Rescue welcomed Lycus, formerly known as Osito, after his owner, relocating and unwilling to keep him, planned to surrender him to a shelter. Lycus had spent six years chained outside, and the first photo shows his severely matted coat and the rusty chain he wore. Thankfully, a group of caring individuals intervened, rescuing him and alerting us.

After a four-hour grooming session to restore his coat and trim his 2” nails, Lycus underwent a full veterinary evaluation, received vaccinations, and tested negative for heartworm. He was neutered, microchipped, and started on preventatives. His foster family helped him adjust to indoor life with a diet and exercise plan.

On January 30, 2025, Lycus was officially adopted by his foster family. Though it’s hard for dogs to forget past neglect, Lycus has learned to love and trust again—his future is bright!

LUNA

Southern California Keeshond Rescue saved Luna from an animal shelter in August 2024 after a ten-day owner hold. A vet exam revealed a possible emerging pyometra, and spay surgery was scheduled. However, just four days later, Luna became lethargic and was rushed to the emergency hospital, where she was diagnosed with severe Mycoplasma bacterial pneumonia. She spent two days in intensive care with oxygen support.

Luna was then released to her foster family with medications and close veterinary monitoring. Once her pneumonia cleared, she underwent spay surgery on October 23, 2024. Fully recovered and thriving, Luna was officially adopted by her loving foster family in December 2024. We love happy endings like hers!

TOOLA

Toola (DOB 10/29/10) was surrendered in March 2023 when her owner passed away and family members could not care for her. Her foster mom adopted her on November 16, 2024. She is 14 now and living her best life!
